Timeline
Represented my school at the Skills Talents event, where my group and I secured 1st place in Overijssel and 4th place in the Netherlands.
Completed my VMBO (preparatory middle-level applied education) exams at Pius X College Almelo, earning a certificate in Media Design and IT.
- As the lead designer and music designer, I collaborated with a group of students and the foundation: “Verdriet door je hoofd” to create an educational game during our internship at 038Games. The game aimed to explain cancer to children whose parents are affected by the disease, detailing various hospital treatments used by doctors.
- Competed in the Winnovation HBO-ICT Windesheim event with a mobile game, winning two awards: First Prize in the Games category and the Public Choice Award.
- Graduated from Cibap Vocation College for Design with a certificate in Media Design (Motion Design).
At Onderwijs Academie, I create illustrations for e-learnings, design and manage the website, make handouts, edit podcasts, and design brochures. I also make sure everything follows our corporate style, keeping the visual communication clear and consistent.

My name is Matthijs Beld,
I’m a creative designer with a background in media and motion design. I’ve worked on serious games, educational tools, and visual content. From websites to e-learnings. Outside of work, I love Dungeons & Dragons, gaming, and drawing fantasy art under the name BeldDesign.

Projects
This section highlights a selection of projects I have independently developed or contributed to.
Lee Baron is the owner and operator of online content creation channel ‘Peaked Interest’ on youtube. at Peaked Interest they make micro documentries about a variety of subjects and from time to time they hire outside independent workers to assist with asset creation. This can be done by artists, musicians etc.
For this Project, I saw a public post from Peaked Interest. They where looking for artists that could draw artworks for them to use in this video. I got in contact with Lee and made some of the artworks for the video. This video is about a man called anatoli bugorsky who got shot through the head with lethal radiation. to find out what happened next, I recommend watching it yourself!
I created illustrations for a YouTube video about Omaira Sanches, marking the second collaboration between myself and Lee Baron from the Peaked Interest YouTube channel. This project allowed me to contribute visually compelling artwork to enhance the storytelling and engage the audience more deeply.
For my internship at 038Games, a group of students and I worked on a mobile game for kids age 6/9, to teach them about cancer. This game was mainly made for kids who have a parent that currently has cancer. The idea of this game was created by Joyce who was terminally ill because of cancer herself.
Together with 038Games and Foundation “Kankerspoken | Verdriet door je hoofd” we made a finished product where I worked on music and Designs for the map, hospital and the hospital minigames.
With this serious game, we hope to teach kids in a playful way what cancer is and what happens during treatment.
For this project I made realistic designs from the characters from @RepostRandy and his second account @CringepostRandy on Instagram. Both my artworks where used as profile pictures by Randy and they also sold stickers of my realistic CringepostRandy design.
Later on, He also commisioned me to make the profile picture for his @PicPostRandy account

Matthijs is one such artist, who has collaborated on a couple of projects now. I have been extremely satisfied with the quality of the work provided and it has fit exactly, the need of the channel. In addition to his high quality output he has always been prompt and kept to every deadline I have set. Matthijs has always made himself available for contact at most times of day any day of the week. Communication has always been very professional whilst simultaneously being incredibly easy to both convey ideas to me and to receive ideas from me.
